1. Your digital agency should be very curious about your business. They should ask for details about your services or products, about your goals and what you hope to get from web development services. After all, how can they tell your business story if they know nothing about you and what you do? How can they help you achieve your digital marketing goals if they don’t know what you expect?

2. If you want to know what your website design will look like, check out your digital marketing agency’s website. You can only assume that their website will be their best effort. If it lacks the professional look that you want for your business, then it is a good assumption that you should keep looking. Browse their site. Do the images load quickly? Do all the links work? Is the content completing for all areas on the site? Is the layout attractive? All these aspects of the site are clues into the quality of work that a web developer can give you. If the digital agency can’t do good work for themselves that is a red flag about the quality of work you will get.

Also, if you plan to use search engine optimization (SEO) services, search their business to see if their digital agency is ranked fairly high in search results. If you have to scroll through several pages to get to their company name then, clearly, they are not good at SEO and you need to keep looking.

3. How do they react to questions you may have? Remember if you were an expert in digital marketing, you wouldn’t be looking to hire someone to help you. It is okay for them to reassure you that they will take the worry out of the web design process but if you ask for them to explain a process and a service and they brush you off, hang up the phone. Generally, when a person cannot explain something to you, they don’t know how to do it very well. 4. Are they organized and do they seem to have a process in place for getting started on a project and updating you on the progress?
